Paul Klee once said:
''Art does not reproduce the visible; it makes visible"
For me, abstract work is all about the process of building harmony and colour; and balancing the composition and line. I think that to be totally absorbed in these activities and to make a good job of it; one should not be constrained by trying to "reproduce the visible."
This is my first abstract painting. It is referenced from a seaside photograph. I have extended the process of abstraction to the point where it may may no longer reveal its original origins.
This painting will be shipped on the stretcher securely in a reinforced envelope of polycarbonate sheeting.
